The following is a recap of Governor Mike DeWine’s press conference on March 22, 2020.

Time is of the essence, and we have to buy that time. Dr. Acton Health Director’s Order: Stay at home order for all Ohioans effective Monday at 11:59 p.m. through April 6th. Allows exceptions for essential activities, for health and safety, for necessary supplies and services, for outdoor activity (walk dog, go on hike) with social distancing measures, essential work, and to take care of others

  • DeWine: the government can only do so much- how well we follow the CDC recommendations and separate ourselves and how much we say no to non-essential activities will determine our future- it will determine how many of us die. We have been invaded by an enemy, and the enemy cannot move forward without our help. Everyone must ask themselves every night if they did everything they could to stop the spread. Everyone must take this seriously and stay home.

March 20 Coronavirus Update: DeWine to Employers: “The bad behavior, the reckless behavior, must stop.” “The protection of life is the most important obligation that I have.”

A recap of today’s press conference from Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine.

  • DeWine: We continue receive notifications from employees about businesses that aren’t complying with guidelines; DeWine “implores” employers to comply. If employers don’t comply, he will err on the side of protecting people. “The bad behavior, the reckless behavior, must stop.” “The protection of life is the most important obligation that I have.” The warning comes on the heels of California and New York shelter-in-place orders and other states’ decisions to close all “non-life-sustaining” businesses.

  • All employers should check the temperature of all employees reporting to work every day before entering the work location. While a temperature check is not perfect, it is one method that can be used to assist in screening employees for signs of the virus.
